A surprising announcement that Chicago's newest jazz venue, Club BluJazz has closed due to unexplained circumstances...it was only open for about five months (opened in March of 2010)...there is an indication that it may re-open in the future...more details on the story are available in the Chicago Tribune Howard Reich article here.

This is unfortunate, but I'm glad that Chicago still has some great clubs, like Andy's and the Green Mill. I saw Mike Smith's Quartet at Andy's last week. Chicago's jazz scene is still alive and well.
